Conflict Management

My research on conflict management explores how leaders can navigate interpersonal and organizational challenges constructively to promote well-being and performance. A key focus has been the role of emotional intelligence in conflict resolution strategies. Our meta-analysis (Schlaerth, Ensari, & Christian, 2013) found that emotionally intelligent leaders are more likely to us collaborative conflict strategies, improving team dynamics and outcomes.

I’ve also co-authored entries in the Encyclopedia of Mental Health (2015; 2023) outlining practical approaches to conflict resolution, especially in mental health and organizational settings. Additional work has examined how burnout, job satisfaction, and rumination relate to conflict and well-being (Ensari, 2020; 2021; Karabati et al., 2017). This research supports the development of emotionally intelligent, resilient leadership practices that reduce stress and foster healthier workplaces.
