Drawing on decades of research in social psychology and intergroup relations, my forthcoming book Personalization explores how we can reduce prejudice and bias by shifting our attention from social categories to the individual human beings behind them.

The book brings together psychological science, real-world cases, personal stories, art, culture, and practical applications to examine how meaningful interpersonal contact can transform the way we perceive people who seem different from us.

Personalization is written not only for scholars and students, but also for educators, leaders, organizational professionals, and anyone interested in understanding prejudice, polarization, belonging, and human connection. Alongside the research, the book offers practical tools for applying personalization in workplaces, classrooms, communities, and everyday life.

At a time when social and political divisions can make the boundaries between “us” and “them” feel increasingly rigid, I hope this book offers both a scientific framework and a practical path toward something different: seeing one another with greater complexity, curiosity, and humanity.
